Fundraising Ideas

Great ideas for fundraising!  If you are putting the time in make the most of your fundraisers!  We all know wrestling takes time and money! Check back often as we will keep you updated on new ideas!

* Casino Bus Trips  Our club (Lake Fenton Wrestling...check us out on Facebook) tries to do a casino
bus trip.  We have the trip begin at our school where everyone parks.  The bus usually holds upto 55
people depending on the coach your reserve.  Our trips here in Michigan run about $45.00 per person
include Round trip motor coach, $20 in gaming and $5.00 in food.  Each casino varies.  The bus
usually costs $1125.00 that is filling 25 seats and the rest is profit.  On top of that we have in the past
offered a 50/50 raffle, we raffle off donations such as pizza, movie passes, wrestling gear or spirit wear
and more.  We have also in the past offered jello shots for $1.00 and sold pop and beer.  You can
really get creative with your bus trips.  They are a lot of fun.  The gaming time is usually 4 hours at the
casino.  Great time to get to know your parents on the team and add new friends.  The company we
use in our area is Blue Drive Tours in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

* Working Concession Stands At Different Venues  Another great way to fund raise is working at
concerts, events, hockey games, football games, baseball games, etc.  I am not talking about just
working your home concessions which can really bring in the cash also for your club.  For example,
Detroit Tigers, University of Michigan, The Palace of Auburn Hills and if you do a little research you
can find the same in your community.  These establishments hire out different companies to run their
concessions.  If you get in contact with them, they will contract your non-profit organization out to
work different venues.  Your workers will have to be 18 years or older in most cases.  You then
get a percentage of the sales for your booth for the night.  You will be in charge of counting cash,
which would require you to appoint a cash manager for the night, in most cases you will need to
also need to appoint a stand manager and each night depending on the venue and the number of
patrons expected that day.  Stand Managers will be required to do inventory and be in charge of the
group memebers you have working.  This is a lot of fun, great people watching and fun to work with
people from your club and get to know them better.    I worked with the Silver Lake Ski Club on their
fundraising for quite a few years and was in charge of scheduling events and workers.  We made a
good chunk of change for the club.   With the ski club we were able to track each worker and which
player each was working for.  We then put the money earned for that evening towards that player for
expenses they needed to pay for throughout the season.  There is a simple spreadsheet you can use to
track.  Contact me and I am sure I can email you one.

Keep checking back...were are not done...we will be adding more
